Blueberry Vodka Smash in glasses garnished with lime, mint and blueberries with alcohol bottles behind them.

This Blueberry Vodka Smash is more than just blueberries vodka and soda water. It’s freshly muddled blueberries that release their fantastic tasting juices while being modeled with your fresh mint leaves.

Flavored with lime juice, simple syrup, and your favorite vodka, this Blueberry Vodka Smash is a unique and refreshing drink, one that is perfect for the summertime.

This refreshing cocktail is perfect for parties, get together’s, or simply laying by the pool on a hot summer’s day. We’ve been making this Vodka Smash for ages now and every time we make it we remember why we fell in love with it.

While we absolutely love blueberries this can be made with pretty much any berry and that is the beauty of this drink, you are not stuck to one fruit, especially if you are not a huge blueberry fan!

I love how quickly these come together and they are absolutely perfect for guests because of that. This is one of our favorite party drinks that constantly get’s asked to be made.

Obviously I oblige because usually we keep a nice stocked bar and have all the ingredients on hand, which are minimal or easily assessable.

Some of our other favorite drink recipes we have on our site include: Strabwerry Wine Slouches, Bay Breeze, and a Salty Dog Cocktail.

    • You can whip up this cocktail in a matter of just about three minutes.
    • This recipe can easily be doubled to serve more people.

    2. Muddle the berries and mint together in the glass until the berries are well broken up and the mint is bruised and very fragrant.
    3. Top berries and mint with ice.

    HOW DO YOU MUDDLE BLUEBERRIES?

You can use a mortar and pestle to muddle your blueberries. Or just place your blueberries in your cocktail glass like we do here and use a blunt or toothed muddler to press down the berries to release all of their flavors and juices.

CAN YOU MAKE THIS AHEAD OF TIME?

This would be a terrific make-ahead style cocktail. You can easily muddle your fruit and mint in the bottom of a large pitcher. Then just add vodka, simple syrup, and lime juice, stir it all together and keep it in the refrigerator until your party starts.

When ready to serve, add ice to your glass and pour in your cocktail mix about ¾ full. Then simply top with soda water and garnishes before serving.

    CAN YOU USE OTHER BERRIES?

Absolutely if you want to use other fresh berries for this drink you may. Fresh strawberries and raspberries would bring wonderful additional flavors to this cocktail.

    HOW TO STORE:

Story leftover cocktails in the refrigerator for just a few hours. This drink is best enjoyed once served over ice. If storing with ice your drink will dilute.

    TIPS AND TRICKS:

    • This is refreshingly sweet for a cocktail drink, if you don’t like it as sweet, use half of the simple syrup.
    • You can also use flavored water in place of the soda water for an extra yummy flair.
    • Use a chilled glass to keep your cocktail cold and refreshing even longer.
    • Trade up the fantastic taste of this recipe by using any berries or mix of berries that you like.
    • This can be made ahead of time and in a pitcher to serve guests. See above on how to do that!
