WHAT KIND OF VODKA IS BEST FOR THIS?
We use Svedka Vodka for this recipe but you can use what you have on hand. We also like to use a vanilla or even a marshmallow vodka in this recipe.
You can really switch it up and switch up the flavors to your liking. It is very versatile on the brands and it is fun to play around with some flavors when you can.
CAN I DOUBLE THIS RECIPE?
Absolutely, we like to make larger batches when we can to be able to serve to guests during the holidays so you don’t have to limit yourself to making drink after drink.
DO I NEED A COCKTAIL SHAKER?
There is a reason behind the use of a cocktail shaker when making drinks. It incorporates the alcohol together and also aerates the drink to to make it frothy.
Sometimes people do not have a cocktail shaker so a great option would be large mason jar. You will want to fill it 3/4 full with ice and then add your liquids.
Shake well for around 15-20 seconds and then you can strain over ice into your desired glasses. So you need not worry if you do not have a shaker, but they are nice and inexpensive to have around.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- Use any of your favorite liquors for this, brands do not matter.
- Switch up your vodka for a vanilla flavor or even marshmallow.
- Double this recipe to make a larger pitcher to serve guests.
- The rimming of the cocktail is completely optional but makes for a fun drink.
- You can use pink food coloring to tint it or swirl a candy cane around to get the coloring.
If you want a fun and easy drink to serve up to guests or to have for yourself this holiday season then this Candy Cane Cocktail is a fun one.
