Hot Chocolate is one of my favorite things on the face of the planet. I like it all year long, that is why Frozen Hot Chocolate is the best thing ever.

You get all the flavors of favorite your warm drinks, but frozen. I mean it doesn’t get any better than that does it? I think not!

WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:

  • With only 4 ingredients the recipe is a breeze.
  • This can be frozen in your freezer for later consumption.
  • It whips up in less than 5 minutes.

I love easy and delicious recipes that is my main goal in life, to keep things easy and tasty, and trust me when I say that you will fall in love with this Frozen Hot Chocolate recipe for sure.

HOW TO MAKE FROZEN HOT CHOCOLATE, STEP BY STEP:

Step by step photos of how too make Frozen Hot Chocolate

  1. In high powdered blender add your milk and hot chocolate mixes.
  2. Drizzle in your chocolate syrup.
  3. Add in your ice.
  4. Blend until you reach your desired consistency.

Ok, if you don’t think this Frozen Hot Chocolate Recipe is super simple, then I don’t know what you’r thinking, because it is!

HOW TO STORE:

If you don’t think the you are going to be able to consume the full amount in one sitting, then you can pop it into a zip top bag and place it in the freezer.

To defrost slightly just let it sit at room temperature for a little while or in the refrigerator until it becomes pourable again.

This can be frozen for 1-2 months for maximum flavoring. Sometimes milk curdles when freezing but since you are not reheating this shouldn’t be an issue.

WHAT KIND OF HOT CHOCOLATE SHOULD I USE?

You can use any brand of hot chocolate mix that you would like, as long as it is 1.38 oz packages. They come in many brands but the brand that we use is Swiss Miss.

My secret for this recipe is to use the hot chocolate mixes with the marshmallows added into them, it gives the little subtle hint of the marshmallows in each glass.

We also love the addition of some chocolate syrup in this recipe, it gives it a nice deeper flavor which really tastes like homemade hot chocolate.

WHAT TO TOP THS WITH:

So you can always just top this wish marshmallows if you like. You can also use marshmallow fluff to give it a really rich flavor but a little sticky in my opinion.

We love topping it with whipped cream and some chocolate shavings or chocolate sprinkles. It’s just a traditional way that we serve our regular hot chocolate.

If you are like me and in the warmer months since it is still warm and miss those warm and cozy drinks then this Frozen Hot Chocolate is exactly what you are looking for.

To describe the texture it is a mix between a milkshake and shaved ice. The ice itself just helps create the consistency of this recipe and doesn’t water it down at all.

TIPS AND TRICKS:

  • We highly recommend using the hot chocolate packages that already contain marshmallows, just gives it a little extra real hot chocolate flavor.
  • Use a high powered blender if you have one, this will work with a food processor but using a more powerful kitchen appliance is highly recommended.
  • The addition of the chocolate syrup is completely optional, it is something we have always done, we have also used chocolate sundae syrup as well.
  • If you want a richer flavor use a mixture of milk and heavy cream.
  • Top with your favorite hot chocolate toppings, like I said we like to use a huge serving of whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
