Smoothies are delicious. I absolutely love smoothies, every since I was little we have been whipping them up, so many different varieties out there.

But this Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie is one of my favorites. Peanut butter and banana together is amazing, they are two ingredients that just mesh well.

I used to dip my bananas and peanut butter and make peanut butter and banana sandwiches! I mean I absolutely love the combination that much, especially in this drink!

So obviously we had to make a smoothie, like I said we’ve been making them for years and I wanted to share my favorite one with you, its too crazy simple and you probably have all the ingredients on hand.

Some of my other favorite peanut butter and banana recipes we have on the site include Peanut Butter Brownies, Chocolate Chunk Peanut Butter Cookies and Banana Bars.

WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:

  • With only 6 ingredients this comes together quickly.
  • We use almond milk and greek yogurt which can easily be switched out to regular milk and plain yogurt.
  • You can double or triple this recipe to serve more people.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED (FULL RECIPE BELOW):

Frozen bananas
Greek yogurt
Almond milk
Vanilla extract
Peanut butter
Ice
Chocolate chips and almonds (optional)

Ingredients needed to make a Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

See how little amount you need to make a Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie Recipe? It is easy peasy, and thats what I love about it. You don’t even need a high powered blender for this.

We just use our ninja which is a lower price than some of the bigger blenders out there, you don’t even need something that powerful, but we love it for things that need a little more get up and go.

HOW TO MAKE A PEANUT BUTTER BANANA SMOOTHIE:

  1. Place all ingredients into a blender.
  2. Blend on high until smooth.
  3. Add more almond milk if needed until you reach your desired consistency.
  4. Garnish with chocolate chips, banana or almonds.

See how easy that is, I mean come on! You can’t get much more easy than that. These smoothies are a nice healthy alternative that I like to make for breakfast a lot of the days.

I’m not a huge breakfast eater but I will absolutely take a smoothie any day, especially if its this Peanut Butter Banana one!

DO I HAVE TO USE ALMOND MILK?

No you do not have to use almond milk, you can use any milk that you have on hand. We like almond milk for the flavor and the lower calorie count from regular milk.

We usually some almond milk on hand but normally we have 2% and we use that a lot in this Smoothie Recipe as well, so just use what you got.

CAN I USE PLAIN YOGURT?

Yes, again plain yogurt will work well for this, you can even use vanilla flavored to give it a little more punch. We use greek yogurt for the health benefits and we like to bake with it so we have it on hand a lot.

HOW TO STORE:

This Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie needs to be stored in the refrigerator, I prefer to store it in a lidded container that doesn’t let much air in between the smoothie and lid. This can be kept refrigerated for 1-2 days.

You can also freeze this recipe, sometimes we just like to place the ingredients into a ziptop bag and squeeze the air out and place in the refrigerator and it should keep for up to 3 months.

To defrost I let it soften in the refrigerator slightly then place back into my blender to mix again.

TIPS AND TRICKS:

  • Make sure you are using frozen bananas, regular banana will make this watery.
  • You can swap out your almond milk for whatever milk you have on hand.
  • If you want to use plain yogurt you can do that as well.
  • Easily freeze this recipe, see my tips above.
  • You can double or triple this recipe easily to have some for later or to serve more people.
