Pumpkin season is upon us and you have to try this Pumpkin Air Fryer Cake! A tasty little cake, baked up in the air fryer that turns out perfect every time.

Pumpkin Air Fryer Cake finished on cake stand and glazed with sprinkles added.

Ok hold up you guys, desserts in the air fryer? Um, yes! If you didn’t think that they air fryer could get much cooler, you can make all you favorite sweets in there!

This Pumpkin Air Fryer Cake is just one of our newest favorite ones. We took our favorite pumpkin cake recipe and scaled it down to fit into the air fryer.

Trust me when I say, this comes out so perfect! It is light, fluffy and super delicious. It is just smaller in size than your normal sized cake.

Which is fine, because sometimes we make a cake and it’s too big to finish and we really don’t want to have to store it for awhile, so this makes it just that much easier.

Baked up in a cute little 3 cup bundt pan, this Pumpkin Air Fryer Cake is the perfect small serving dessert for a small gathering, empty nesters or just for your family.

Some of our other favorite pumpkin recipes that we have on our site include: Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats, Pumpkin Hand Pies and The Best Pumpkin Dip!

    WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:

    • This recipe should work in any air fryer as long as the pan fits.
    • The glaze that tops this cake is absolutely amazing and highly recommended.
    • This uses cake flour which results in a supper fluffy cake.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED (FULL RECIPE AT BOTTOM):

    Cake flour
    Baking soda
    Pumpkin pie spice
    Salt
    Unsalted butter
    Granulated sugar
    Eggs
    Vanilla extract
    Pumpkin puree
    Cream cheese
    Powdered sugar
    Whole milk
    Sprinkles, optional

Ingredients needed to make a Pumpkin Air Fryer Cake.

HOW TO MAKE A PUMPKIN AIR FRYER CAKE, STEP BY STEP:

    1. Preheat the air fryer to 320°F. Grease and flour a 3-cup bundt pan, set aside. In a medium-sized bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, pumpkin spice, and salt, set aside.
    2. In a large bowl cream the butter and sugar together for 2 minutes.
    3. Add the eggs one at a time, fully incorporating the first one before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla.
    4. Add half of the flour mixture, stir it in.
    5. Then add half of the pumpkin, stir it in. Repeat, scrape down the sides as needed.
    6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth out the top.
    7. Place the pan into the air fryer and cook for 14 minutes. Turn the dish 180° and continue to cook for 10-14 more minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Invert the pan onto a wire rack to cool completely.
    9. Add the cream cheese to a small bowl and whisk it until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and mix until combined. Lastly, add the milk and vanilla, whisk to combine. You want the glaze pourable yet thick enough to stick to the cake.
    10. Pour the glaze over the cake.
    11. Decorate with sprinkles if using.
    12. Let it sit for 10 minutes, slice, and serve.

CAN THIS CAKE BE MADE IN THE OVEN?

Yes! The beauty of this is that it is versatile in the way that it is made, if you don’t have an air fryer you can use the oven.

You will want to follow the preparation instructions but you will bake in the oven at 350 degrees F for 25-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

DO I NEED TO PREHEAT MY AIR FRYER?

Yes, just like with any other baking you will want to preheat your air fryer. You can do this while you prepare the cake just so it can get up to temp.

WHAT ARE SOME OTHER AIR FRYER DESSERTS?

If you love your air fryer and want to bake more in it, we have a bunch of desserts that we have loved making, some of them include:

    1. Cinnamon Roll Casserole
    2. Apple Fritters
    3. Fried Oreos
    4. Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie
    5. Coffee Cake
    6. Cherry Cheese Danish
    7. Chocolate Chip Cookies
    8. Cheesecake

Slice of cake laying on white plate with fork and milk behind it.

    HOW TO STORE:

If you have any leftovers of this Air Fryer Cake, you can store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

While usually there is no need to freeze this because of it’s small size, if you wan’t to make it to serve at a later date you can wrap it in plastic wrap and then a layer of foil and place in freezer bag, do this unglazed. This should keep for up to 3 months.

To defrost, you can remove to the refrigerator overnight then glaze when you are ready to serve!

    TIPS AND TRICKS:

    • This should work in most air fryers as the bundt pan is smaller.
    • You can bake this in the oven, see my tips above on how to convert that.
    • This can be frozen if you wan’t to serve at a later date.
    • The glaze and sprinkles are optional but highly suggested, you could also decorate with powdered sugar.
    • You can adjust the pumpkin flavor by add more or less pumpkin pie spice.
    • This is a great recipe for single people, empty nesters, college students or a small family!
    • This uses cake flour, do not substitute, it really give this cake it’s nice and fluffy texture.
