HOW TO STORE:
These we like to store either in the pan itself covered with foil or plastic wrap or cut and in a ziptop bag or airtight container.
These can be stored at room temperature for up to one week. I do not recommend freezing these bars unfortunately.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- Try this recipe with cocoa krispies for a chocolate caramel version.
- These rice krispie treats stay so soft and chewy. Make sure you don’t press them too hard into the pan.
- You can use any caramel sauce you like, even your own salted caramel sauce.
- We like to top with flaked salt, this is optional but it really sets them off.
- If you want less salt in this recipe use unsalted butter and omit the salt added.
- We use Kraft Caramels for this recipe, they need to be the soft caramels, not hard ones.
