Slice of Strawberry Jello Pie on white plate with garnishes and milk in background.

I love a good no bake dessert, especially now that it is warming up and all the cookouts and parties are going to start happening and this Strawberry Jello Pie is on recipe I default to.

We have been making Jello Pies forever, probably since I was a young girl. I got introduced at the best age because I’ve just been loving them so much over the years.

This Strawberry Jello Pie probably has to be my favorite, strawberry is just one of those flavors that taste great during these warmer months and rarely do I find anyone who does not like a good strawberry dessert.

This Pie is one of the easiest recipes that you will ever make. Literally 5 ingredients is all it takes besides garnishes to whip this deliciousness up, the hardest part is waiting for it to set up.

Like I always say, it is absolutely worth the wait, you can’t rush perfection! This is such a kid-friendly recipe so it is one of those safe desserts to bring almost anywhere and you’ll know you won’t come home with any leftovers.

If you are a strawberry fan, love a good pie and love no bake then you must make this Strawberry Jello Pie this spring and summer, you will not regret it.

Some of my other favorite strawberry recipes we have on our site include: Strawberry Poke Cake, Strawberry Scones and Strawberry Ricotta Cake.

    WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:

    • Easily available ingredients help this come together quick.
    • Other flavors can be used.
    • This is great to bring to gatherings and cookouts!

INGREDIENTS NEEDED (FULL RECIPE AT BOTTOM):

    Strawberry jello mix
    Boiling water
    Ice water
    Whipped topping
Graham cracker crust with 2 extra servings
    Whipped cream, for serving
    Fresh strawberries, for serving

Ingredients needed to make a Strawberry Jello Pie.

HOW TO MAKE A STRAWBERRY JELLO PIE, STEP BY STEP:

    1. In a large heat-proof bowl, add the strawberry jello mix. Add the boiling water and whisk to combine until the jello is dissolved.
    2. Add the ice water and continue to whisk until it combines and starts to slightly thicken.
    3. Fold in the whipped topping until smooth. Place in the fridge for 20-30 minutes until slightly thickened.
    4. Add the filling to the graham cracker crust and smooth out the top.
    5. Refrigerate for about 4 hours or overnight is best until set.
    6. Serve with whipped cream and fresh strawberries if using.

WHAT OTHER FLAVORS CAN I USE?

This Jello Pie will work with essentially any Jello flavors, some great ones that we have used in the past include orange, cherry, blue raspberry and lemon.

The base of the recipe will work with all the flavors with no issues at all! So if you are not a fan of the strawberry or want to make other flavors in the future you can use this recipe for that.

CAN I USE HOMEMADE WHIPPING CREAM?

I highly suggest using Cool Whip for this recipe as it is more stabilized which we need for the Strawberry Jello Pie to set up properly.

Making your own will work in a pinch but it might not set up fully like the pie itself, so using Cool Whip is recommended, however you can make your own to garnish the pie with.

HOW LONG DOES THIS NEED TO SET UP?

The minimal time that this needs to set up is 4 hours. Best overnight if you have time, that would make this a excellent dessert to make ahead and have ready for any gathering.

Check your pie after 4 hours and see if it is set up by shaking it to see if it still jiggles. If it seems set then you can garnish, cut and serve.

    HOW TO STORE:

This can be stored covered in the refrigerator where it will keep for up to 3-4 days.

This can also be frozen, to do that place the top on your pie tin then I recommend wrapping in foil. This will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months.

To defrost, place in refrigerator overnight, or eat from frozen!

    TIPS AND TRICKS:

    • You can make your own graham cracker crust, just do it in a deep dish.
    • Other jello flavors can be used, see suggestions above.
    • Mix in some fruit to give it a little texture.
    • Make sure that you use cool whip in this and not homemade whipped cream.
    • Garnish however you’d like.
    • Make sure that this chills for at least 4 hours if not longer.
    • This is a great make ahead dessert.

I find this recipe confusing What does Graham Cramer crust with two extra servings mean? And your recipe implies that fresh strawberry’s can go into the pie mixture rather than as a side compliment

If you look at the ingredient photo, stores sell graham cracker pie crusts with 2 extra servings, it’s just a slightly larger crust than the regular. You can chop up fruit to mix into the pie mixture if you’d like, that is an option. It will set up with the pie itself.
